We love business.
We believe business, especially owner-operated businesses, are the cornerstone of the economy and society.
A successful business provides increased income, greater wealth, enhanced flexibility, freedom and personal satisfaction. Successful businesses offer their owners and family more life opportunities, contribute to the local community through sponsorships, and help young people get a start.
However, we know running a business can be challenging.
It can drain your energy and motivation.
The uncertainty, risk, and sense of loneliness can take a toll on even the most resilient business owner.
When business owners face distress due to financial concerns, cash flow issues, personnel problems, or stagnant growth, it can have devastating effects; personal health suffers, relationships breakdown and children are impacted. The personal toll can be huge.
Unfortunately, the devastation doesn’t stop with the business owner. There’s often a flow-on effect to their team, and the families of their team, especially when jobs are lost unexpectedly. Suppliers feel it too when they don’t get paid, and then so too their families. This then echoes through the economy and local communities.
We have witnessed first-hand the catastrophic devastation from business failure. It was through the process of helping business owners in distress that the power of being genuinely excited, exhilarated and aligned became abundantly clear. That’s how the Exhilarating Business™ framework was developed, and later expanded, ensuring business owners, and their businesses, are a sustained success.
We are unashamedly laser focused on supporting business owners, and by virtue of that focus, their family, their team and their community.
Who are we?
Our journey began in the 90’s bringing the ‘big business’ C-Suite functionality of the Chief Financial Officer aka ‘CFO’, to owner-operated businesses. Through our work as their virtual CFO, we soon realised there was a significant gap in the solutions provided by traditional business advisors. Before long, the role expanded to other critical business functions including marketing, sales process, people management, leadership, risk management and succession planning.

Biography
Starting in an Accounting Firm as a Trainee in 1990, I achieved qualifications as a Chartered Accountant before being appointed the Financial Controller for a Multi-National Engineering business. In the late 1990’s, on the lead up to the introduction of GST in Australia, I returned to business advisory and developed the first virtual CFO service for owner-operated businesses in Australia.
Through my work with businesses across every industry, I have assisted business owners in all aspects of business including marketing, sales process, finance, accounting, tax, commercial law, people management, leadership, succession, exit, and retirement planning; interlinked with me helping the business owners and their families integrate strategies for their own personal wealth management and asset protection.
I have witnessed first-hand the devastation of business failure on the lives of the business owner, their family and their community. I am unashamedly laser focused on helping business owners achieve sustained success.
I have a Bachelor of Business and am an Accredited member of Mindshop.
I attend a daily ‘board meeting’ (aka out surfing) and often attend ‘courses and networking events’ (aka out playing golf).

Success – what does that look and feel like to you?
For some, it’s more money, profit, growth, cashflow or wealth so that they can live and even indulge a little.
For others, it’s more time, freedom, clarity and focus so they can live more and enjoy what life has to offer.
For those working with us, it’s all that and more.
